The
Don Wright Music Education Naming Ceremony took
place on June 29, 2004. This day was a special day
for the University and the community. As Dr. Wright
arrived on campus he and his daughter Priscilla
were greeted by a community group called "Save
our Strings". The entrance to the Don Wright
Music Education Wing was colourfully decorated with
children's drawings and thank you notes to Dr. Wright
- all testimonials to how UVic music education reaches
well beyond campus. The ceremony was magical and
moving, as one person said "It gave me goose
bumps of happiness."
